Our 5 Most Popular Workplace Safety Blog Posts of 2015

December 30, 2015

Countdown.jpgOur safety blog here at Select International has exploded this year! Views have increased, subscribers have increased, and shares have increased drastically. It's been a great year for our safety blog.

Similarly to our other blogs, the goal of our safety blog isn't to sell or promote our products - it's to educate, inform, and even entertain our readers. We've done a good job of that this year. The results prove it.

With 2015 coming to a close, we wanted to recap our most popular safety blogs posts from the past year. Here is our countdown starting with number 5...

5) 5 Questions to Ask Yourself About Your Safety Policies

You should always be questioning your workplace safety policies. They may seem like good policies, but there is probably room for improvement. This article discusses the 5 Whys technique, which is especially handy for finding the root cause of a safety incident.

4) Why Do Some People Choose to Work Dangerous Jobs?

This is one of my personal favorites from the past year. In this article, one of our safety consultants, Craig White, takes a look at the reasons people choose dangerous work over safer work. It starts off with a video of a maintenance worker climbing a 1500 foot TV tower. It's our only blog guaranteed to make your palms sweat.

3) Five Hazards to be Aware of to Increase Your Workplace Safety

Awareness of Surroundings is one of the four factors in the Four Factor Safe Model. It goes without saying that by increasing your awareness, you're more likely to be a safe worker. This blog discusses 5 hazards that often go unnoticed by those with low awareness.

2) Reasons for Trying a Personal Approach to Safety Leadership

Leadership plays a huge role in employee safety. When leaders take safety seriously, their employees are more likely to be safer on the job. In this blog, we discuss a real world example of leaders who went through a safety program that focused on weaknesses in their safety leadership styles. The results are pretty awesome!

1) The 10 Most Common Safety Blind Spots

Blind spots often lead to injuries and other safety incidents. Making yourself aware of the most common blind spots, is the first step towards eliminating them, or at least reducing the risk of one of those blind spots causing a safety problem in your company.

So there you have it, our top 5 most viewed blog posts from 2015. I also want to thank you - our readers - for taking the time to read and share all of our blog posts! We have big plans for our blog for 2016 so stay tuned!
