This presentation will follow Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC through its journey to improve HR and work-culture metrics. The case for employee investment and culture change efforts must be grounded in financial and patient outcomes. This session will examine HR’s role in driving organizational culture, how metrics are used to demonstrate change, how the organizational strategic plan facilitates HR’s annual goals and achievements, strategies to hardwire values into the culture, and how to effectively incorporate selection tools in the hiring and promotion process to ensure that decisions are based on behaviors that support the culture.
